About the event
During the day, we'll cover a variety of ancient cheesemaking methods, all of which you'll be able to recreate at home without any specialist equipment. Using milk from a local herd of small breed cows, you'll be: making fresh, lactic-set, cheese; experience the process of creating, cutting and molding curds for hard cheese, as well as making Pam and Francis' Mozzarella, which you can enjoy on site.
To accompany your cheese, you'll prepare our Wild Weald flatbreads and sourdough, made including foraged seeds and baked in our clay ovens. You'll go home with the recipe and possibly the desire to dig into your back garden to create your own oven!
The format follows on from Pam and Francis' experiences making cheese for hotels, deli's and restaurants in Surrey. The structure of the event draws on their 25-years with Taste of the Vine, hosting fun, interactive occasions that bring activity, information…
