Follow the woodland trail set by Old Jarvis, Wild Weald’s chief bodger — a woodsman and green‑woodworker who knows every stump, stool, and charcoal pit. As you wander his path, you’ll uncover clues, folklore, and the ancient crafts that shaped the Weald.
The trail is designed for all the family and takes around 1–2 hours to complete. There’s no rush — half the joy is losing yourselves in the quiet richness of the woodland.
From charcoal burning and iron working to pottery, foraging, and woodcraft, these woods have hosted it all. Iron Age dwellers, Roman occupiers, and medieval iron barons have each left their mark beneath the trees.
Step into the past — and leave with the Weald etched into your memory.

Francis will be available at 6pm each evening of your stay to collect your trail clue pack. If you'd like to arrange collection at another time, give him a call, he may be able to arrange it for you. He'll likely be working in the woods. 07798 672 422
