About the event
This free event is part of our autumn apple and fermentation season. Designed for unpaid carers and children with special educational needs, it has been structured as a fun, interactive occasion, with a nod to history and the benefits of local, unprocessed foods.
The event starts by stepping back into the past and, treasure-hunt style, following a Celtic forager to gather the bounty needed for our final feast. As well as collecting apples from one of our ancient trees, the group encounter other trees and shrubs and and taste drinks made from them. They'll also churn butter and prepare flour for a woodland crumble, visit (at a distance) our wild bees, and press juice from the gathered apples as well as some from our local fruit farm. All before the final chestnut roasting at our iron age firepit.
Until we do our public event on 18th July we will have…
