About the event
Greenway Fruit Farm, Greening Herstmonceux, Cowbeech Bonfire Society, Vitality Villages and Wild Weald are hosting a community apple day, bringing people together to celebrate our local orchard and the harvest it gives us. It’s a free, drop‑in event, with donations going directly to the farm for providing the apples.
Across the day we’ll be pressing fresh juice, offering apple drinks and local cider, sharing homemade apple cakes, and running a handful of traditional games including apple bobbing. We at Wild Weald will be on hand with hints and tips on how to turn your juice into ancient drinks, both fermented and non-alcoholic. There will also be a small autumn wassail, along with a few stalls run by friends who love working with apples.
