About the event
Greenway Fruit Farm, Greening Herstmonceux, Vitality Villages, Cowbeech Bonfire Society and Wild Weald are hosting a community apple pressing day, bringing people together to celebrate our local orchard and the harvest it gives us.
This is an initiative to help village charities and local community groups to raise funds and awareness. Entry is by donation, the funds from which will go to the fruit farm for the apples. The proceeds of other activities will go directly to each charity.
Across the day we’ll be pressing fresh juice, offering apple drinks and local cider, sharing homemade apple cakes, and running a handful of games including a family treasure hunt and an apple shy, amongst others.
We at Wild Weald will be on hand with hints and tips on how to turn your juice into ancient drinks, both fermented and non-alcoholic. There will also be a small autumn wassail, along with a…
