Follow the woodland trail set by Old Jarvis, Wild Weald’s chief bodger — a woodsman who knows every stump, iron pit and charcoal bed of our woods. For the Scavenge Hunt, his path becomes a series of creative micro‑challenges for corporate teams: gathering willow for sculpture, foraging clay for pottery, creating charcoal, tasting woodland drinks, baking bread in clay ovens and tackling other heritage‑craft tasks drawn from our woodland days. A historic trail reimagined as a collaborative, hands‑on woodland adventure.

About the event

The Bodger’s Trail is a fast‑paced, hands‑on woodland adventure set in a landscape shaped by centuries of charcoal burning, iron working, pottery, foraging and woodcraft. Iron Age dwellers, Roman occupiers and medieval iron barons have all left their mark beneath these trees — and today, their legacy becomes the backdrop for a collaborative, challenge‑based experience designed for corporate teams.

This reimagined scavenger hunt leads groups along Old Jarvis’s historic woodland path, where each stopping point becomes a micro‑challenge inspired by traditional crafts of the Weald. Teams gather willow for a sculptural build, forage clay to shape pottery for firing, create charcoal using heritage techniques, taste woodland cordials in a sensory challenge, and make bread to bake in clay ovens. Additional woodland tasks drawn from our half‑day and full‑day programmes can be added to suit your objectives.

The format is energetic, creative and adaptable. It can be delivered as a half‑day or full‑day event, with every version tailored to the needs of your team — whether you’re seeking collaboration, problem‑solving, connection or simply a refreshing shift from the pace of corporate life. The Bodger’s Trail blends history, craft and woodland immersion into a memorable shared experience that brings people together through activity, curiosity and play.

Your objectives

Strategy: Use the sequence of micro‑challenges to explore adaptive thinking, resourcefulness and collaborative problem‑solving.

Connection: Strengthen rapport through shared physical tasks, woodland creativity and informal teamwork along the trail.

Respite: Offer a grounding pause from corporate pace through nature immersion, hands‑on craft and woodland calm.
